Little Emrys was just 9 days old when I visited his family at home in Bridgend. His mum Emma had messaged me the day after he was born, and we found a date that worked perfectly — he was still in that beautiful sleepy newborn stage.
The magic of in-home sessions
I always photograph newborns at home. There's something so special about capturing a baby in their own space — the Moses basket in the corner of the living room, the pile of tiny clothes on the radiator, the cup of tea going cold on the side table. This is real life, and it's beautiful.
Keeping it natural
I don't use props or complicated setups. I photograph babies as they are — curled up in their parents' arms, sleeping on dad's chest, being fed by mum on the sofa. These are the moments that pass in a blink, and they deserve to be remembered exactly as they were.
