Why I Photograph Weddings Differently

Documentary wedding photography isn't about perfection — it's about truth. Here's what that looks like in practice.

Documentary wedding photography isn't about perfection — it's about truth. When I arrive at a wedding, I'm not carrying a shot list or a set of poses I need to tick off. I'm there to watch, to listen, and to capture what's real.

The moments between the moments

The photographs that make people cry aren't usually the big, obvious ones. They're the father adjusting his tie in the mirror. The bride's best friend squeezing her hand during the vows. The flower girl spinning in circles on the dance floor.

No forced poses

I'll guide you gently — where to stand so the light is beautiful, how to hold each other so it looks natural. But I will never make you do anything that feels awkward or staged. If a pose doesn't work, we move on.

Your day, your way

Every wedding is different because every couple is different. I adapt to you, not the other way around. Whether you're having 200 guests at a country house or 20 people in a pub garden, I photograph it with the same care and attention.
