In the Autumn Fields.

October is my favourite month to photograph a family. Everyone's back in jumpers, the light stays soft and low all afternoon, and the big trees in Pontcanna Fields turn the colour of everything lovely.

I'll find us a quiet corner and put a blanket down, with a few pumpkins and some dried grasses. Just enough to make a soft spot to sit, nothing that gets in the way. Then twenty minutes of your family being exactly as they are. Cuddles, kisses, someone being carried upside down, and me hanging back catching the bits you'd never think to pose for.

And if you're the one who hates having her photograph taken, I understand that more than you know. You don't have to perform. You just have to be there with them, and I'll do the rest.

The 24th is the last Saturday before the clocks go back, the final proper golden hour of the year. After that it's dark by five.

Seven slots in the whole session, twenty minutes each, small on purpose. £125 for five fully edited images in a private gallery, with Klarna at checkout if that's easier. Flat, easy walking, with a café and toilets in the park, so it's a lovely one to bring grandparents along to. Wrap up warm and wear what you'd actually wear.
